Hi I’m Sez. After a decade in Corporate finance Im off on an extended break which commenced in August, 2018. I deferred my MBA studies for the semester, packed my carry on case and landed in the warmth of south east Asia to undertake some yoga classes and explore the region further. In contrast to this warmth I then landed in Scandinavia in December, 2018, started studying again and had the white Christmas I’d always dreamed of. So by the end of 2019 I have been to 31 countries and find myself hoping to have a second white Christmas in New York.
Given quite a structured work life, spontaneous is a key theme of my current travel plan. And Im doing this low cost as the less I spend the longer I’ll be able to travel for. Saying that moments in the Grand Hyatt or eating devine food are referred to as my ‘flashpacking’.
My main aim in life is to travel the world seeking new experiences, discovering new places and meeting friends, new and old! And let’s not forget sampling yummy food along the way. I go for a quick snap before the food gets cold or a snap to capture the moment then let’s enjoy it in real time.
Yes I’m a ‘solo female traveler.’ I use the inverted comers as I completely fit this description, most of the time, but to me I’m just travelling solo as I don’t yet have a significant other to travel with and I’m not letting that stop me. Hang on, does my fur-baby count as a significant other?! Don’t worry he’s well looked after by my Mum and Grandfather. Between staying with friends and meeting new ones wherever I stay it doesn’t really feel solo! Most of all I just ensure that I’m happy. Along the way I am still working out my travel style, it seems to vary from backpacking to flashpacking and everything in between. What hasnt changed is my love of spending time with locals in their country and learning everything I can from them from culture to local food.
